SOLID, NOT HOLLOW
This is the part worth knowing before you buy a gold bangle anywhere, because most shops do not spell it out. A lot of gold bangles are hollow, a thin shell of gold around empty space. It keeps the price down, but a hollow bangle dents and bends easily and cannot really be repaired once it does. Ours are solid gold all the way through. They have real weight in the hand and take a lifetime of wear without collapsing. If a gold bangle looks surprisingly cheap, hollow is almost always the reason.
PLAIN OR DIAMOND SET
A plain gold bangle is clean and everyday, a single band with nothing to catch. A diamond-set bangle runs light along the top of the wrist without losing that simple shape. Both wear well on their own or stacked.
FINDING YOUR SIZE
A slip-on bangle has to pass over the widest part of your hand and then settle with a little room at the wrist, so it is sized by your hand rather than your wrist. Measure across your knuckles with your fingers held together to find the right internal size. A hinged bangle can sit closer, since it opens to go on.
HOW TO WEAR AND STACK
One bangle is quiet and classic. Two or three together make more of a statement and catch the light as they move. A bangle also stacks well with a tennis bracelet or a chain, setting a rigid line against a flexible one.
CARING FOR YOUR BANGLES
Wipe them with a soft cloth, put perfume and cosmetics on before they go on, and take them off for the gym so they do not knock and scratch. Stored apart, they stay bright for years.
COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT BANGLES AND CUFFS
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SOLID AND HOLLOW GOLD BANGLE?
A solid gold bangle is gold all the way through. A hollow one is a thin gold shell around empty space, lighter and cheaper but far quicker to dent and bend, and hard to repair once damaged. Ours are solid, which is why they have real weight and last.F
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE BANGLE TO BUY?
For a slip-on bangle, measure across the widest part of your hand with your fingers together, since it has to pass over your knuckles. It then settles with a little room at the wrist. A hinged bangle can sit closer.
HOW SHOULD A BANGLE FIT?
With a little movement at the wrist, loose enough to move but not slip off over the hand on its own. A hinged bangle sits closer, since it opens to go on.
CAN GOLD BANGLES BE ENGRAVED?
Many can, on the inner surface, which makes a bangle a personal keepsake or gift. Ask us about engraving on the piece you are considering.
ARE YOUR BANGLES SOLID GOLD?
Yes. Solid gold through and through, never hollow or plated, so they hold their weight and their colour for a lifetime.
